Quick answer

Open the wasm.rip page on a desktop browser and wait for the game to load; nothing needs to be supplied. It is a Unity WebGL build of Cuphead by crackers (woahhcrackers), which the GitHub repo describes as a work in progress made from the porter's decompile. The first load pulls over 1 GB and the README lists bosses and levels that crash or cannot be beaten.

The original game

Cuphead is a run and gun game built around boss fights, drawn in the style of 1930s cartoons. Studio MDHR says it was first made with the XNA framework before moving to Unity. It sold more than one million copies in its first two weeks and 6 million by July 2020, and holds Metacritic scores of 86 to 88 across platforms. It won Best Art Direction, Best Independent Game and Best Debut Indie Game at The Game Awards 2017; the Delicious Last Course expansion followed in 2022.

The browser version

The port is by crackers, GitHub user woahhcrackers. The page shows an alert on load saying "this web port was made by crackers (woahhcrackers)", and wasm.rip lists crackers as the porter. wasm.rip describes itself as "a group of people on the internet, porting games, emulators, or tools" and lists crackers among its members.

The GitHub repo CupheadWeb describes it as a "W.I.P. web port of cuphead that I'm working on from my decompile". The repo holds only the built Unity WebGL files (loader, framework, a 19 MB WebAssembly file and the game data), not the decompiled project or any source code. The page title is "Unity WebGL Player | Cuphead" and the data file names Unity 2021.3.33f1. The repo does not say how the decompile was made or which version of the PC game it comes from.

The README lists known issues: the train boss cannot be beaten, the helicopter size is wrong, and the game crashes on run and gun levels. An earlier itch.io page by the same author calls it a "very buggy and experimental port" and says most non-music audio did not load at that time. The repo was last updated on May 1, 2026.

The game data is split into 26 parts on GitHub, about 1.3 GB in total, which the page downloads and joins in the browser before starting, so the first load is long. The page shows "WebGL not supported on mobile" on phones and tablets. The README also explains how to run the build locally with Node.js.

The original game has two-player local co-op; the port's pages do not say whether co-op works. No license is published, and the port's pages cite no statement from Studio MDHR.
