Open csjs.live, pick a server or Quick Play, and you are in a live Counter-Strike 1.6 match. It is built on the open Xash3D FWGS engine compiled to WebAssembly. The page does not say what game data it uses.
The original game
Counter-Strike turned a Half-Life mod into a standalone game. Terrorists and counter-terrorists compete in objective rounds such as bomb defusal and hostage rescue, and players buy weapons with in-game money. The first beta was released on June 18, 1999. The PC version holds 88/100 on Metacritic and the game sold about 4.2 million copies by December 2008.
Began as a Half-Life mod by Minh "Gooseman" Le and Jess Cliffe in January 1999. Valve acquired it, and its engine is GoldSrc, the Half-Life engine. Counter-Strike on Wikipedia
The browser version
CSJS is a browser Counter-Strike 1.6 created by LK. The site says: "No install. Pick a server and jump straight into a live Counter-Strike 1.6 match." It is an independent project built on the GPL-licensed Xash3D FWGS engine, compiled to WebAssembly.
You choose a server from a browser you can search by server, map or player and filter by featured, all, populated or open slots, or press Quick Play. The site lists players online, kills in the last 24 hours and kills ever, and has a global kill feed, top killers (24 hours, week, month, all time), a scoreboard, a weapons page, player stats, voice chat, a page for playing on a phone, custom servers and a guide for hosting your own.
The page does not say what game data CSJS loads. It is at version 1.0.0, says its source is on GitHub at lklacar/csjs (that address returned a 404 error when we checked on 2026-10-08), and says it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve or FWGS. LK also runs Q3JS (Quake III Arena) and a Jedi Academy build.
