Open vel.gg/bo1z in a desktop browser, turn on hardware acceleration, pick a map and play. It is solo only. The creator has not published how it was built, so "recompiled" and "decompiled" are labels people use for it rather than confirmed details.
The original game
Call of Duty: Black Ops sold more than 5.6 million copies in its first 24 hours across the US and UK (4.2 million and 1.4 million) and passed $1 billion in revenue by December 22, 2010. Zombies, first seen in World at War, was reworked for Black Ops: up to four players online or two-player split-screen, with the maps Kino der Toten and Five in the base game, the unlockable Dead Ops Arcade, and later map packs adding Ascension, Call of the Dead, Shangri-La and Moon.
Directed by Dave Anthony and Corky Lehmkuhl. Built on a modified IW 3.0 engine. Call of Duty: Black Ops on Wikipedia
The browser version
The project is hosted at vel.gg/bo1z under the title "BO1 Zombies" and describes itself as "Black Ops zombies in your browser". Its own page lists ten maps: Kino der Toten, Five, Der Riese, Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa, Ascension, Call of the Dead, Shangri-La and Moon.
Coverage describes it as a free, no-download browser version of the round-based Zombies mode, with wall weapon buys, the Mystery Box, the power switch, perk machines, Pack-a-Punch, teleporter routes and the round structure of the original. Settings can be customised as on PC, and you play with keyboard and mouse.
It is solo only: there is no multiplayer or split-screen. Frame rate can dip on the larger maps when a big horde is on screen.
Nobody is credited on the page we could read, and press coverage names no developer. TheGamer says the link was shared on X by MrTLexify. That tells us who shared it, not who built it, so this page does not name an author. Reports disagree on how the port was made, and the technology behind it has not been published.

How to play it
- Open vel.gg/bo1z in a desktop browser.
- Turn on hardware acceleration (GPU usage) in your browser settings first. Without it the port can run like a slideshow.
- Choose a map from the menu and start a solo run.
- If it still runs badly, try another browser. Performance varies between browsers.

Questions
Can you play Black Ops Zombies in a browser?
Yes. A fan-made browser version at vel.gg/bo1z runs Black Ops 1 Zombies in a desktop browser tab, solo, with no download.
Is Black Ops Zombies recompiled or decompiled?
Nobody has published how it was built, so we cannot say. People search it as "Black Ops zombies recompiled", "decompiled" and "browser" for the same page.
Which maps are included?
The project lists ten: Kino der Toten, Five, Der Riese, Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa, Ascension, Call of the Dead, Shangri-La and Moon.
Why is it laggy?
Turn on hardware acceleration (GPU usage) in your browser settings. Without it the port can crawl. Try another browser if it still runs badly.
Is there multiplayer or split-screen?
No. The port is solo only.
Do I need to own Black Ops?
Reports say you do not need to download or supply anything. It is an unofficial port, so it could be removed at any time.
